Sara Awtrey
Monaview Elementary School
Sara currently serves as an instructional coach. Her time is spent mixed with classroom visits and observations, coaching and data analysis sessions with teachers,
and school leadership and district team meetings. She can also be found greeting students and teachers and also helping the car
line run smoothly.
Holly Brazell
Saluda Elementary School
In her role as assistant principal, Holly starts each morning greeting students and faculty in the hallway with a pleasant good
morning, a smile, hug, or high five. Her favorite days are when she gets to spend time in classrooms observing students and watching them learn and grow.
Sarah Cox
Monaview Elementary School
Sarah says that "as a literacy specialist, no two days ever look the same- which makes this job so exciting and enjoyable!" Her day usually consists of various tasks centered on reading and writing. She meets constantly with teachers during their planning to discuss resources, strategies, supports she can provide, and current student learning.
Anna Doyle
Buena Vista Elementary School
As a fourth grade teacher, Anna views her role as an educator to inspire and empower her students as they work to meet their
learning goals. She is a facilitator, cheerleader, and accountability partner for each
student. Anna works with other educators to develop, implement, and assess instructional strategies that will best meet the needs of the
students we serve.
Melissa Hester
Monaview Elementary School
As a fifth grade teacher, Melissa spends her day with 20 incredible students who are all very unique, each with their own set of strengths and passions. In addition to her role as their teacher, Melissa serves as their mentor, coach, listening ear, shoulder to cry on and cheerleader.
Alanda Posey
Cleveland Academy of Leadership
Alanda serves an instructional coach for intermediate grade students. Her day involves being intentional about helping the
staff plan more productively and teach more effectively. One of the most important
pieces to Alanda's role this year was helping to communicate the vision and mission of
the school with all stakeholders.
Kelly Reese
Lake Murray Elementary School
Serving as principal, Kelly says one of the things she loves most about being a principal is the variety each day brings. She spends much of her time building relationships with teachers, students and parents and firmly believes this is foundational for her school's success.
Victoria Salvat
Blythe Academy of Languages
Victoria serves as the instructional coach and the heart of her role is to coach teachers through a unit or topic of study. Much of time is spent working with teachers through lesson planning, meeting to brainstorm through ideas, and supporting students and teachers in the classroom by being hands-on with activities and teaching.
Abigail Schiferl
Mauldin Middle School
Serving as an 8th grade math and science teacher, Abigail engages her students by learning about online tools to check for understanding and to monitor their progress. She also using coding, STEM activities and robots in the classroom. In her new role this fall, she will continue to keep students engaged by using a variety of online tools to teach career tech ed
Brooke Scott
Oak Pointe Elementary School
As an administrator, Brooke says she's fortunate to work with all of the students and staff throughout the school. Serving as the Special Education Placement Chair, Brooke attends all SPED meetings throughout the school year and says this is one of the best parts of her job because she gets to celebrate the growth of her students with all of the students’ team members and families.
Shelley Smith
Greenville County Schools
As a high school social studies teacher, Shelley starts the day by greeting students and welcoming them to class. This is a time for Shelley to get to know her students and build meaningful relationships that help cater the classroom to their interests. In her U.S. History class, she guidesher students through the stages of gradual release modeling moving first from whole group practice, then to small group and pair activities, and ultimately, to individual application and assessment.
Jamie Whitlock
Greenville County Schools
As an instructional coach, Jamie says all coaching that she does centers around student learning and student needs. Her role as the coach is to provide perspective on what it is like to be a learner in the classroom and support teachers as they set high expectations for students. Partnering with teachers allows them to plan, implement, and reflect on strategies to improve student learning together as a team.
Jennifer Woody
Beck International Academy
For AP Jennifer Woody, the morning starts with breakfast club with students which helps set the tone for each day. After checking-in with teachers, it's on to instructional observations. She keeps her handy fanny pack equipped with my walkie and cell phone because you never know when the opportunity for a quick “tweetable” moment will present itself.
Erika Wyatt
Devon Forest Elementary School
Erika's role as an elementary assistant principal looks very different every single day. She says working in a school with approximately 1,000 students and 100 staff members definitely keeps her on her toes. She begin each morning greeting students with a handshake, big hug, fist bump, or high five as they unload from their buses. Then she is off to the cafeteria to supervise students while they eat their breakfast.
LaChe Williams
L.W Conder Arts Integrated Magnet Elementary School
LaChe is a single gender boys 5th Grade teacher. If you were to visit her classroom for a day, it would be immediately apparent the relationships that have been built and a routine that has been in place and mastered to the point where the boys could run things on their own. From their morning meetings to the in depth conversation during Socratic seminar, students are owning their learning and classroom responsibilities.
Logan Wright
Wade Hampton High School
Logan currently holds a dual role. One of those is instructional technology coach and the other Teacher Cadet instructor. With both roles, her primary focus is supporting others whether that is a current or future teachers. Logan says the best part about her job is getting to work side by side with the teachers in her building to bring the best possible learning experience to students.
